The fireworks are hosted by the Pumpkin King himself, Jack Skellington – who's also available for photo ops, alongside his main squeeze Sally – while the parade dedicates a lengthy stretch to the Haunted Mansion. Both are completely different from what you'd find on a typical day at the park, incorporating the aforementioned properties in a number of creative ways. Two staples of Disney theme park entertainment – parades and fireworks spectaculars – are featured, but aren't merely existing shows with spooky makeovers.
Of course, if you are there to see Stitch decked out as Elvis, you can totally do that too. Much of the event's marketing is indeed focused on the mascot mouse getting spooky with his pals, but fans of Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas, the Haunted Mansion attraction, or just Disney villains in general will find themselves grinning as much as those tykes filling their treat bags with bite-sized candy bars. Sure, there's trick 'r treating and other activities little ones will love, but if you're a Disney-adoring adult you can also count on having a blast at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. But while you won't find any spilled entrails littering the most magical place on Earth, it's not all Mickey Mouse in cute Halloween costumes either.
While HHN provides a gore-soaked good time aimed at guests 13 and over, Disney World's Halloween celebration offers a far more family-friendly vibe. Also, if your particular horror inclination involves a creature with a corn-on-the-cob face, we're pretty sure the Scarecrow: Cursed Soil zone has got you covered. As such, they allow you to more leisurely stroll, take pics, and interact with the horrifying characters, or at least let them sneak up behind you with a buzzing chainsaw. These outdoor areas aren't as dark or claustrophobic, nor do they require you wait in any lines to enjoy them. Scare zones also pack the frights, but rely more on roaming characters that'd sooner floss their toothy maws with your spine than offer a smile.
